Location: Bhutan is located in South Asia along the eastern end of the Himalaya Mountains. This isolated country is bordered to the south, east and west by India and to the north by China.

Bhutan is one of the most isolated countries in the world regulated by the government to preserve the nation's traditional culture. Bhutan is also listed as one of the most least developed nations in the world despite the fact that they were voted the happiest country in Asia in 2006 and the eighth happiest country in the world by Business Week.  Bhutan is the only country to measure happiness.

In 1999, the government lifted a ban on television and the Internet, making Bhutan one of the last countries to introduce television.
